The first compact-disc release for this wonderful miniseries score. The music for QB VII marked the first time Goldsmith composed for choir, this being added to an already complex score that was meant to evoke Jewish history, the Middle East, contemporary England and much more. Unfortunately, only 36 minutes or so of Goldsmith's music for QB VII is included on this disc -- however, this is beautiful, evocative music, sweeping and grand, music that has epic scale and scope that reaches far beyond the confines of the medium. Goldsmith fans should not miss this album; fans of motion picture underscore should not fail to include it in their collections. ~ Steven McDonald
