Third Eye Blind's 2016 EP, We Are Drugs, showcases the long-running San Francisco outfit's exuberant pop/rock. The album follows the group's fifth full-length effort, 2015's Dopamine. Known for their intense self-scrutiny while recording, the band took a looser approach with We Are Drugs, recording the album over a focused week in spring 2016 at the Sonic Ranch studio in Texas. Produced by lead singer/songwriter Stephen Jenkins, We Are Drugs comes on the heels of the band's politically outspoken performance at the 2016 benefit show for the charity organization "Musicians on Call" at Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Included on We Are Drugs is the socially minded single "Cop vs. Phone Girl." ~ Matt Collar
