This two-LP set is a compilation of John Mayall's Decca recordings, 1964-1968. It's a good, 22-track selection starting with songs from The Bluesbreakers album that featured Eric Clapton, and pulling selections from other notable albums and from Mayall singles. This was a prolific period for the bandleader, and he is well-served by a coherent best-of that highlights his own compositions and some significant covers. ~ William Ruhlmann
